Monthly recap is a short summary of our latest articles. If you subscribed to REWERS International in the middle of the month or just had no time to stay up to date, we got you!
We didn’t want to go the easiest way possible, so every recap is going to have a host, and he’s going to share one thing that he found interesting or inspiring this month. Since it’s not only about menswear, better be open-minded.
This month’s recap is hosted by Kamil Brycki.
June was craaaaaazy! Even though we planned everything thoroughly with the start of REWERS International, we came up with a lot of ideas on the go - especially with Pitti Uomo 108 around the corner. In the end, we managed to stick to the plan and reached almost 250 subscribers, which is a very good and motivating start!
First things first, the summary:
Beauty Has a Function - Suzan opened the month pretty solidly with his look at the state of the Beauty. Why did we stop making beautiful things, and why is it important to take care of craftsmanship?
Menswear’s Third Way - Mateusz goes through the idea of combining more styles in our wardrobes - not only dressing down tailored pieces but also dressing up workwear, etc.
I Hate Windsor… But I Have No Idea, Why - recently I started to wonder why we are avoiding the Windsor knot so hard that it’s basically an endangered species in the world of menswear ties. With this article I shared some thoughts, but I have no perfect answer - maybe we can come up with it together?
The Uniform Theory - maybe you are old enough to remember wearing uniforms at school; maybe it’s obligatory in your office or the place you work in. Łukasz, however, is sharing his theory about our everyday style and gives some advice on how to find the perfect spot.
People in Menswear: Charles Yap - the first part of our People in Menswear series featured Charles Yap, the owner of The Decorum Singapore. Lovely guy with a very interesting backstory!
Packing for Pitti - everyone interested in menswear knows that the main event in June is Pitti Uomo. We didn’t want to flood you with articles about trends, photo coverages and stuff like that, however we had to take the opportunity to explore this topic.
Pitti Impressions - following up our 6th article, but this time we spend more time on the overall impressions than the clothes.
Outfit of the Month #1 - first edition of another one of our series. This one is purely focused on the outfits - expect lots of pictures, descriptions, ideas and inspirations.
Now let’s focus on something that I would love to share with everyone - the one song I just can’t stop listening to.
A lot of times I’m inspired by soundtracks. Countless times I listened to music first, and then decided to watch a new TV show, movie or play a game - for me nothing works better than a heart-touching main theme, even more than the best trailer or review. Unfortunately, I’m not going to have the opportunity to play Death Stranding 2, the new Hideo Kojima game, for some time. However, I can share some thoughts about the music composed by Woodkid, who is probably one of the most innovative musicians at the moment.
Woodkid is the guy who knows how to blend orchestra and electronics perfectly. You probably know him because of his big hit song called Iron, which was featured in many games, movies and trailers. Very few people are aware that Woodkid is not only making songs - he is also scoring, for example, some of Louis Vuitton’s shows, and in June he released a whole new album for Death Stranding 2.
To the Wilder is the song that’s not leaving my headphones for some time, and when Woodkid dropped the album, I had to check it immediately. Some parts are soothing, some parts are energetic, and in the end the score blends perfectly with my days, lifting them up with strings and pushing me further with some drum and bass compositions.
Am I going to be so excited about it after a few more listens? Probably not, if we’re speaking about the whole album, as it’s pretty short and covers only part of the game. Nevertheless, there are themes I did add to my library because they put my brain in a very creative state, with imagination expanding through the boundaries.
